How to make a car dealership famous in grand rapids (marketing plan)

Here's how I'd make a car dealership in Grand Rapids famous.

I call it the 1-2 punch.

It'd work for

any of the 15ish car dealerships in town.

And because only one dealership is doing social media well (@bergerchevy on Instagram) — or doing it ok, at least— this is a wide-open approach to selling a bunch of cars.

First: content.

Pick the biggest personalities on the team, and film them explaining cars and features. Not selling. Not offering deals. Just explaining things.

Localize things. Tie your offerings into potholes, the s-curve, construction, camping, parking for Amphitheatre shows, and all the other specific things Grand Rapids drivers have to deal with.

Edit with simple b-roll. Stay away from speed-ramp videos. They're cool, but unless you're already amazing at them, they'll just slow down your process.

Distribution: put this content out on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. Ignore the rest.

Let me repeat this one more time. DO NOT TRY TO SELL CARS in your Instagram videos!

Second: ads.

You should already have Google Ads running. That should be obvious.

For Meta, put paid ad dollars behind it only when one of your posts goes "viral" — anything getting 5x more views than your average content.

This way, you're targeting people who are actually looking to buy a car, and because your video is already proven to be GOOD, you won't have to spend much to get it in front of a lot of people.
